HARAD POWDER (Terminalia chebula)

Harad, also known as Haritaki, is a powerful Ayurvedic herb regarded as the “King of Medicines” in Ayurveda. Harad powder is made from dried fruits of the Terminalia chebula tree. How to Use:

For Internal Use (General):

  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon Harad powder with lukewarm water before sleeping (as per tolerance).

  • OR mix in honey for better digestion.

For Skin:

  • Mix Harad powder with rose water/multani mitti/aloe gel and apply for 10–15 mins.

For Hair:

  • Mix with Amla + Shikakai + Reetha for a herbal hair mask.

  • Leave for 20–30 mins and wash.

Conditions NOT to Use / Avoid If:

  1. Pregnant or Breastfeeding Women – Should avoid internal use unless advised by a doctor.

  2. Severe Diarrhea or Loose Motions – It may worsen symptoms.

  3. Dehydration – Harad’s laxative effect can increase fluid loss.

  4. Low Blood Pressure Patients – May reduce BP further in some individuals.

  5. Post-Surgery or Very Weak Immunity – Avoid unless prescribed.

  6. Children Below 12 (Internal Use) – Avoid giving without medical guidance.

  7. If You Have Stomach Ulcers – Can irritate the stomach lining in some cases.

  8. If You Have Low Blood Sugar – Monitor sugar levels (Harad may reduce glucose).

  9. Allergy or Sensitivity – Stop immediately if rashes or discomfort occur.
